A spacious addition to a charming Cape Cod style home!
This 2 bedroom Cape Cod style home got the G.P. Harris treatment with an addition that created more space for the Riley’s to enjoy. The Riley house was built in the late 1970’s and had not been updated much prior to our expansion project. Our goal was to design and create a comfortable home for the owners to enjoy for many years to come.
How did we do this?
To give the Riley’s some more living space and storage space, we designed and built them a new garage with a nice full-size bedroom above. The rear of the house was also extended to create a nice eat-in dining room that flows perfectly into the much more spacious redesigned kitchen. This redesign will make holiday family meals a lot more enjoyable!
The Kitchen wasn’t the only room in the house that received some love – we also added a large master bedroom in the rear addition and converted the original bedroom into a walk-in closet and master bathroom. For a finishing touch, the entire house got a new outside coat with vinyl siding and shutters.
Every project is unique and rewarding in different ways. This project, in particular, included air conditioning on the wishlist. The furnace was old and inefficient. To make this wish a reality for the Riley’s, we replaced the old furnace and all the ductwork in the basement to perfectly fit a new a/c unit.
The Riley’s now have a beautiful and more spacious home that will keep them cool and comfortable for the warm months ahead!
